Areas of Specialization:

Over the last 30 years, I have had the opportunity to work with folks dealing in a wide range of life struggles and concerns in many different settings -- from churches to skid row alcoholics, from prisons to universities. I have a particular interest in college-age adult and geriatric counseling: couples therapy, parenting issues, single-parent issues, relationships, grief issues, conflict resolution, chronic illness, sexuality issues, stress and work related issues. If an individual has particular interest in faith-based counseling, I am experienced in that and also in helping people explore and deepen the meaning in their lives.

View of Therapy:

I view therapy as a gifted opportunity to take time to work on issues that are significantly impacting one’s life. For those who would like, this can become a time to become more deeply ground in faith. I believe strongly in not just dealing with “the problem”, but in further building the strengths that already exist for the individual or couple and in developing new strengths. In the long run, that can make a great deal of difference as the future up’s and down’s of life come our way.
